Soon, Sinterklaas and his Pieten will arrive in our beautiful canals to bring joy to little Amsterdammers. But for many children, a Sinterklaas surprise is not something they can count on, as they grow up in poverty.

At Serve the City, we believe Sinterklaas should be there for every child in Amsterdam. Do you agree? Then join our initiative and volunteer for Sinterklaas. Through our surprise action, you can become Sinterklaas for a moment and make a child happy with a gift.

Together, we will make sure no child is left out by Sinterklaas. And with your help, every child will feel seen and surprised with a present.

All across Amsterdam! In the form below, you can choose the location where you’d like to buy one or more gifts. We will share the details and ages of the children later with you via email.

How does volunteering for Sinterklaas work?

1. Sign up below and choose a location.
2. In November, you’ll receive an email with all the details about the child (or children) you’ll be surprising. Such as age, gender, and gift ideas.
3. Email received? That’s when your role as a Sinterklaas volunteer officially begins! 🎁
4. Budget guideline: about €15 per child
5. Wrap it up! Make the gift look festive and add a personal note or short poem for each child.
6. Deliver your gift before the deadline mentioned in our email.
No time to bring it yourself? Order online and have it delivered directly to the location.
7. Enjoy your role as Sinterklaas for a child who truly needs it.
