About the activity

A woman with an intellectual disability lives with her elderly parents, who are unfortunately unable to take on this job themselves. With a freshly painted bedroom, you’ll give her a true fresh start in a comfortable, peaceful space.

The bedroom is approximately 24 m². She’s happy to help out where she can — for example, passing things or taping off edges — but needs some guidance along the way. The job includes: moving and covering furniture, covering the floor with plastic sheeting, re-gluing loose wallpaper, degreasing the wallpaper, taping off window frames and skirting boards, painting the walls (not the ceiling), and removing the tape.

Practical info:

  • We’re aiming for 2 volunteers, but you’re also welcome to sign up solo – we’ll find someone to join you
  • All materials are provided
  • Please bring your own step ladder for the higher sections
  • Times are flexible (in consultation with the supervisor)

By working together for a few hours, we achieve a visible and positive result. Your contribution makes an immediate difference 🙂
