About the activity
De Bogt is a residential care home in Amsterdam-West that reflects the city itself: open, colourful and full of stories. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome here. De Bogt is home to elderly residents living with dementia, physical disabilities and mental health challenges.
We are looking for friendly volunteers who would love to make someone’s day a little brighter. You can do this by going for a walk together, playing a game or simply sitting down for a nice chat. Sometimes, just spending some time together and showing genuine interest can make a real difference!
If the weather isn’t great, no worries, there’s always a nice indoor activity where you can join and help create a warm and enjoyable afternoon.
Please note: the minimum age to participate is 18.
Do I need to physically be in the Netherlands to be able to join in?
Yes! Only people who are physically present in the Netherlands are able to volunteer with us and can sign up. Unfortunately, we can offer no assistance with obtaining visas to come to the country.
Is this a suitable project for me?
If you enjoy connecting with people, having a chat and would like to make a positive impact, this is a great project for you!
What language skills are needed?
For the elderly residents, it’s important that you speak some Dutch.
