On Friday December 18th a Christmas dinner is being held at the Salvation Army in Amsterdam East for people that are lonely most of the time. Normally they see each other on a regular basis. They have probably missed each other, but can come together now after a long period of time. So that’s gonna be a familiar and ‘gezellige’ meeting with each other again just before Christmas! And it will bring some light in these days that are getting darker earlier and earlier.
The afternoon/night is divided into two parts: dinner will be served in two different fimeframes, from 14.00 to 16.00 and from 18.00 to 20.00, to give as many people as possible the opportunity to join.
To make sure this dinner will go smoothly, we need five volunteers on that Friday December 18th who are available from 13.30 to 20.30. Maybe you can sign up for this nice job with some friends or your family. You can sign up by yourself as well, then you just join the others.
It would be great if we can get this done for these visitors! The tasks are dishing the food, picking it up and serving it (like we Serve The City 😉). It would be perfect if you could put on some black clothing. That will look chic. They have aprons at the Army. In advance, thank you so much!
